Since May I have been on the Microgynon 30ED pill, since then I skipped the placebo tablets and went straight on to the next pack of tablets containing the hormones. I did that 3 months in a row I think. This month I intended on taking the placebo tablets to finally have a period, however it started a week earlier (Whilst i was still taking the hormone tablets) and it has now lasted 7 days and is quite a heavy period.
Is this normal/ ok? :S
Also, about my missing out a few months of the placebo tablets- I asked the woman at the sexual health clinic and she said it was fine to do so.

So my mom is a urologist (specializes in mens sexual and reproductive health) and she's taking a poll to see how many guys would rather have a women inspect their penis than a woman. Just answer yes or no, or you can add comments as to why you feel that way.

I am interested in going to India at some point, and volunteering to help with teaching women's empowerment, sexual health, etc. and would like to know if anyone is aware of a way that I can hook up with some volunteer program once I am in India? I don't want it to be religiously affiliated at all, and I'm also trying to do it on a very small budget, so joining a big company of volunteers that charges a ton for volunteering isn't really ideal. Does anyone know of any options? Or have personal experience stories?
Thanks so much for your help!

When I was 13 I began to engage in sexual activity (with only 1 person), so I went and got on birth control to help aid in me not getting pregnant. I was on birth control pills for 4 years and then I decided to switch to the shot because with all the things going on in my life it was difficult to remember to take the daily pill at a certain time. I took the shot one time, I gained weight and it made me develop acne on my face for about a year after that. Now I've lost all of the weight and I'm acne free but the problem is... sometimes I go 6-7 months without having a period and then when I do get my period it lasts for about 1-2 weeks and it's heavy. I end up having to use two (overnight) maxi pads and one (super plus) tampon. I’m not and never have been pregnant. My granny and my mom have both had a hysterectomy. I've been to the doctor, had tests ran, they found a cyst on my ovary but my doctor said it really was too small to worry about right now. I've researched this and didn't really find much out. Can someone please help me? All serious answers are appreciated.

IS THIS GUY INSANE? http://thinkprogress.org/2009/02/25/schu...http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/20...
Today, Colorado State Sen. Dave Schultheis (R) caused outrage by announcing that he would vote against a bill requiring HIV tests for pregnant women because the disease "stems from sexual promiscuity" and he doesn't think the government should reward "unacceptable behavior." Schultheis explained his motives before casting the lone vote against the bill:
"We do things continually to remove the negative consequences that take place from poor behavior and unacceptable behavior, quite frankly, and I don't think that's the role of this body.
As a result of that I finally came to the conclusion I would have to be a no vote on this because this stems from sexual promiscuity for the most part, and I just can't vote on this bill and I wanted to explain to this body why I was going to be a no vote on this."
Two days earlier, Sen. Scott Renfroe, of Greeley, used biblical references in linking murder and homosexuality during debate on a bill to extend health benefits to the partners of gay and lesbian state workers.

I'm ready to quit.
Someone asked whether childhood sexual abuse could bring on early menarche, and about a half dozen girls replied that it can't. I was the only person with a reference--a respectable one mind you, Medline--who showed that the answer was yes, it could.
So I get a thumbs down.
The subject is health; doesn't anyone care about science? Or is it all just a bunch of women sharing opinions and old wives' tales?

a teen sexual health forum. 90% of the questions asked in the men and women health sections are from young teens and preteens.. and they are always the same questions over and over.. Penis length, period questions, or the ever popular
"do you think i may be pregnant?" .
anyone agree that they should have a different forum for teens?

It seems that, while there are some health questions asked, most all of the questions are about sex. And they are asked and answered by about as many females as males with sexual subjects being for both men and women.
If you go to "Women's Health" it truly is about women's health with questions about periods and pregnancy or breasts being most asked about.
You would think that men's health would be about prostate problems, testicular problems, muscle building, hair loss, etc. wouldn't you?
And if the sexual questions are being asked here because there is no "Human Sexuality" section, then why aren't the same questions asked in the "Women's Health" section? Just seems curious to me.

I went to PP to get treated for the STD I caught from a sexual assault. The woman that interviewed me, a health care secretary, was incredibly rude and vulgar. When I asked about the possibility of contracting HIV, she told me I could only "if he had like a ton of C U M on his finger." She told me that I got the STD before my assault, even though the OB/GYN I later went to told me that it was entirely possible to contract from a digital penetration bc HPV spreads from skin to skin contact.
So why was she so rude? I found out from the medical director that that woman only has a high school diploma. I checked the salaries online for her position and they only make $12 an hour. She was a middle aged woman seemingly in her later forties or early fifties.
Do you think she is just bitter that she is middle aged an only making $12 an hour? She seemed like she wanted to demean me and cause me unneccesary pain.

or is it just the same? i found that it's very hard to be a woman. with all the periods, the health conditions, the pregnancy, birth-giving, maternity, love/marriage relationships, together with the physical and mental condition which is not as strong and clear as the men, but then women got to face more of various pains in life.
not just that, they gotta face bigger troubles in life such as sexual issues, sexual abuse, women discrimination, men forcing women to give money, men abuse/ beat women, forced prostitution, etc.
if men's dilemma is all about taking responsibilities of going out to work and support the family, there're already plenty of women doing that too. so, it's not that hard then. same goes if men gotta be tough as fighters in order to protect the family. even woman have also been doing that, it's just that their limit of physical strength couldn't make their strength exactly like the men's.
