LONDON - In the first comprehensive global study of sexual behavior, British researchers found that people aren't losing their virginity at ever younger ages, married people have the most sex, and there is no firm link between promiscuity and sexually transmitted diseases. Since contraception prevents abortion, one would think that they would not be against it. McCain advisor, Tom Coburn, is even against condoms. Republicans also claim to be against taxation, and I have heard them complain about “welfare mothers.” This seems to be a Catch 22, no contraception, no abortion, and no help for single and low-income mothers. Republicans recommend adoption, but they don’t mention the costs involved in prenatal care or the hospital and physician costs involved in childbirth. Of course, they have made sure that federal employees have access to contraceptives. In addition, most insurance pays for Viagra, but not birth control. I wonder if they are out of touch or just don’t care what the realities are. “The issue surfaced this week after Carly Fiorina, a high-profile McCain campaigner and possible running mate, wondered whether there isn't a bit of sexism underlying health coverage determinations. "Let me give you a real, live example, which I've been hearing a lot about from women," the former Hewlett-Packard CEO said Monday, while discussing women's health issues in Washington. "There are many health-insurance plans that will cover Viagra, but won't cover birth-control medication. Those women would like a choice." But the comments don't mesh with McCain's record on the issue. Not explain to their children about sex and sexual health issues. My parents refused to speak to me about this and told me I was going to hell for masturbation. I get that parents dont want their kids to go have sex and babies, what I don't get is why you would not educate them on how to prevent sex and babies. To give a bit of background, I am a queer 20-year-old woman currently involved in a serious relationship. Tomorrow I'm headed to my yearly physical and I just KNOW my doc (who is great) is going to ask me if I'm sexually active, which I am. I still go to a pediatrician - not motivated enough to change yet - and was wondering what sort of reaction that's going to merit. This is my first sexual relationship and it is with someone of the same gender. I've done my research on safe sex, risks, etc., and we're both clean. My main questions are: am I going to have to deal with some sort of gynecological exam if I tell her I am sexually active? Can I opt out of that somehow? Since I'm still going to a pediatrician, can she tell my parents (they know I'm gay, but they're just about coping with me having a girlfriend; me having sex would blow their minds)? If she can, is there a good way to ask her not to? I'm new to this when it comes to my doctor, so thanks in advance. Advice appreciate!

The expression "Dirty Old Men need LOVE Too" is my reply to those who automatically lump me into the category of D.O.M. Why must I be considered "one of those" merely because I have been fortunate enough to have reached the age of 79, in excellent health, and with as strong sexual desires as I've ever had? I lost my wife to cancer a year ago this past March, and we were not able to enjoy ourselves for the approximately 4 years prior to her death. It is hard for me to accept the realization that most women of any age, whatever their status, cannot for the most part accept the enjoyment of sex just for the pure enjoyment of it! I work in a company where my duties include Marketing and HR responsibilities. To give a little background, I am usually out doing Marketing in the afternoon and a co-worker of mine has recently had a serious health issue and I have been asked to close our office on Friday afternoons with a secretary I'll call W. W. (who is male) and I were alone in the office for hours on end on Friday because it was so slow. I was looking at crime statistics on our local PD website and came across the link for registered sex offenders. I did a search in my zip code and guess who pops up? None other than W. he has a felony conviction for sexual abuse on a child. Immediately I felt VERY uncomfortable. I was molested as a child and then raped my first year of college. Should I go to my boss with this issue and ask that someone else stay here as well? Or am I just coming off as a whiny brat who doesn't want to close on Friday afternoons. I don't want to get the guy in trouble, but I have no idea how I am going to be here and functioning when it is only the two of us in the office on Friday afternoons. Thoughts? Advice? I know I am not a child, I am a 30 year old woman. However, most sexual predators reoffend and I really dont' want to be put in a position where I am alone with him. I'm not saying anything will happen (never had a bad feeling about the guy, in fact I never would have guessed this in a million years), it's just the thought of being alone with someone who has been convicted (not just accused) of abusing a child sexually makes me feel ill and brings back a lot of things I thought I had left in my past. Yes I have been to counselling, it this stuff does not affect me on a day to day basis. But having to confront these feelings again is not pleasent.

I do suffer depressions and anxiety though, but i'm a fairly well balanced individual. Basically i want to know would this be weird. I suppose my childhood has left me always search mother and father figures. My dad was absent too in that he moved 10 miles away and left me with mum. Hes a good man, i love him too and i know he done the best he could do. However i'm a rather needy adult, always looking for 'idols' and people who are solid and ambitious and nurturing to look up to. Its not a sexual thing. its how i want their nurturing love and i want the love from a well balanced individual as i've never had that. I become very attached when i get it from this source but i'm aware of that and i always try to mask my neediness as i respect no one can fix my short comings, and i dont want to crowd anyone. However i've met a business woman who owns health centres/pharmacies near where i live. (more...)

I told her i couldnt afford the stuff before taking up her offer and she said no problem. Basically shes owns a chain of stores and i'm very taken with her. I've been in there loads since but shes always away on business, but i never say i'm in to see her, i buy something. I know shes a buisness woman and she may be trying to plug her stuff, but i found talking to her and the massage experience lovely and i want her in my life as a friend (not sexual). How do i do this with a complete stranger without seeming like a sad weirdo? Also as i havent seen her in a few days, i feel a little sad as i'd love her in my life. Please dont think i'm a freak. I know this is based on nothing. I know nothing of this woman's life. I'm simply a customer and she may not want a friend.
